I don't edit my clinic's website. I just say what bugs me.
I don't write code or touch my clinic's website. When something on it bugs me, I tell Claude in plain words. Here's one evening and one morning of that.
The story
- Monday, about 8 PM The drop-off page looks off. I say so, and ask what else would still feel like us.
- Monday night Four color options. I point at My Pet Ate and say match that, then ask for some motion.
- Tuesday, 5:19 AM On my phone, nothing moves. I say that too.
- Before my first patient Rebuilt a different way, tested at phone size, live.
- Mid-morning The new menus are live, with custom icons, three swapped for better ones.
Monday around 8 at night I was looking at our same-day drop-off page and it just looked off. Brownish, a little stiff, icons I didn't love. So I typed exactly that, typos and all, and asked what else would still feel like the clinic. Claude mocked up four color options. I pointed at our My Pet Ate page, which already feels like us (cream, deep teal, a little red), and said match that. Then, since it's a long page, I asked for some motion to make it less of a wall.
That's what it got. The same teal, a new drawing at the top in the same style as My Pet Ate (a dog waiting at the counter, a cat in a carrier, the clock at 7), and sections that rise in as you scroll down. It touched that one page and nothing else.
Tuesday at 5:19 in the morning I pulled it up on my phone and nothing moved. I said that too. It turned out the motion was built on a newer browser feature that a lot of phones don't run yet, so Claude rebuilt it a different way, tested it at phone size, and it was live before my first patient.
Then the bigger one. Our main menu was organized the way a clinic thinks, not the way a pet owner looks for things. Services sat next to For Clients, and people had to guess which one held what they wanted. I wrote out what I wanted: group everything by what you came in for, put a short hint under every item, and no generic AI icons, because I hate that look. Claude drew custom icons in the site's own style. Three of them didn't read right to me (spay and neuter, the laparoscopic spay, end-of-life care), so I picked better versions, and by mid-morning the new menus were live.
Claude made the video too, from the actual messages I sent and real screenshots of the site before and after. The voice is George, a text-to-speech server running on a computer in my building.
If your clinic has a website with a page that bugs you, that's the whole skill. Say what bugs you, in your own words. You don't need to know what a scroll-driven animation is. I didn't.
